An event about excellence: three PGI and PDO Consortia

On October 29th 2024, the Hotel Luc in Berlin hosted a gala dinner dedicated to the finest European salami. This event celebrated culinary excellence with three extraordinary consortia: Salamino Cacciatore DOP, Mortadella di Bologna IGP, and Zampone e Cotechino Modena IGP. The evening, part of the three-year project The EU Quality Crew: PDO and PGI Deli Meats From Europe, highlighted the importance of salami with Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indication (PGI). This initiative aims to raise consumer awareness about the importance of choosing quality products.

It has a pink color with white fat spots and a delicate flavor, often enhanced with pistachios. Zampone and Cotechino Modena IGP
